What is counselling?

Counselling provides a safe, confidential place to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Perhaps you have a specific problem or issue that wants attention?

You may feel in distress, overwhelmed by feelings or a general sense of uneasiness or dissatisfaction with your life?
Problems may be showing up in your personal relationships; at home or at work; in changes of mood or outbursts of anger. You may also be experiencing physical symptoms such as: tiredness, disturbed sleep, eating problems, increasing your use of drugs or alcohol to cope.

As a trained counsellor, I'll listen and help you understand how past experiences, worries about the future or lack of confidence may be affecting your life. Together, we can reflect on how you respond to life events and explore the way you relate to yourself and others.
Counselling can help you to:

  1. move away from depression, anxiety and panic
  2. deal with overwhelming feelings
  3. find clarity about sexuality or identity issues
  4. live with pain or chronic illness
  5. feel more at home in your body
  6. express your thoughts & feelings constructively
  7. make decisions wisely and confidently
  8. find ways to reach longed-for goals
  9. transform stuck areas in your life
  10. create or re-establish rewarding personal relationships
